About CityPeace Presbyterian Church
We want to be a renewed community, to be a renewing force in the North Penn community.
The CityPeace purpose is to be a church, a counter-culture community in the (edge) city, as a sign and presence of God’s Kingdom. So that the emerging generations of immigrant generations in the city will be renewed spiritually, personally, socially and culturally, for a greater city. God’s Kingdom, established in the person of Jesus, provides both the joy of the gospel and the power for reconciliation. We are especially for the many transitioning through life; bewildered by the church; interested in spirituality; wondering if true community is possible; had previously rejected gospel presentations possibly due to some obscuring of the gospel; those desiring to dialogue about life and purpose.
CityPeace is to be community of faith in central Montgomery County. We desire to renew our neighborhood and wider community by being a community with values of loving through sacrifice, enriching lives through involvement, share life with ethnic uniqueness (celebrating strengths and acknowledging eccentricities and differences) and taking care of one another and those who have needs that we can meet.
Desiring to reflect the multiethnic diversity of central MontCo, we desire as a CityPeace community to be diverse. Though we “see” the world through our culture’s perspective, the gospel allows us to differentiate our culture as clothes we wear from who we are as those made in God’s image. To keep us from raising culture above the gospel or God’s kingdom, we welcome those who can humbly recognize their own culture’s tendencies and weaknesses while contributing the culture’s strengths and good values, for the greater good of God’s kingdom.
